About Us
The Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church is a small country church with a rich history. It was originally a Bible Christian church, whose first meeting house was built at Siloam in 1851. The Pleasant Valley chapel was built in 1874. In 1884, the Pleasant Valley Church was transferred from the Bible Christians to the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1910,
the church was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. The present Pleasant Valley Church building was quickly rebuilt in 1911, with volunteer labor and donations from members and friends.
Today we are a small congregation looking to revitalize our church through music and worship. We wish to serve as a community center, a place where neighbors gather. All are welcome to join us in worship and in music.
The church building is available to rent for weddings, funerals, worship and other occasions.
